Today, I went to a real bookstore (Barnes and Noble, being that Borders is gone and we only have one family-owned bookstore across town (all of the bookstores here are across town)) and bought four books.
The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson (recently released) |
new cover, paperback edition I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore |
Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon (recently released) |
new cover, hardback edition of Delirium by Lauren Oliver |
I'm already on page 20 of Carrier of the Mark. It feels perfect for the season, because I picture Ireland as a rainy sort of place. Can't wait to read the rest of these, along with my gazillion other books.
What books have you gotten recently? Any opinions on these books?
Ahh I'm in the same boat as you about bookstores. My place to go was 'Borders', but now that it's gone, it takes me 40 mins to get to Barnes & Nobles and about an hour to get to a local bookstore :(
ReplyDeleteAnyway, great selection of a haul you've got here for your IMM! 'Carrier of the Mark' has gotten so many positive reviews these last couple of months! I'm still shocked that it was someone who wrote it on Inkpop and was discovered there :)
Ah, that's horrible! At least I live around 20 minutes for B&N. Of course, I think that's why I usually go to Walmart to find most of my books.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying "Carrier of the Mark" so far, and I've read a mixture of reviews. O_o I'm so proud that it was discovered on inkpop. ^_^
Man that really stinks. I'm fortunate enough that I have bookstores in my neighborhood. Good choices. Still like the special edition cover of Delirium. Very nice. New follower. Come visit me over at Livre De Amour-Books of Love Blog.
