A Rather Happy Day, I Would Say

So, at about midnight, I finished writing Sever.  It's completed at 83k, and I've already got ideas to add into the second draft.  But I'm not touching this lovely thing until August.  Good thing I've got my idea written down.

Now the time has come to search for a new project to work on.  I've got three right now, all of them still needing to be planned.  But, as usual, I shall give you guys little two sentence summaries.

Wrath - Paranormal Romance
When sixteen-year-old Luz Gray discovers she wasn’t even supposed to be born, everything snaps inside, only to cause her to lash out at any passerby—human or not. With the help of soldier-boy Wesley, she will learn that not everything in her life was a waste, even if the Gods have constantly been toying with her life since the day she was born.

Tricks (working title) - Dystopia
Lilias lives in the year 3012 where the continents have reformed and monarchies are the popular way to reign. With the discovery of her own royalty, she and her little sister, Angel, go to live in the palace, only to learn that Angel is more fit for the crown than Lilias—so says the power hungry Royal Advisor. Lilias refuses to let her homeland crumble anymore and swears that she will fix the land no matter what.

NeoHuman (working title) - Sci-fi
For the past twenty-four hours, the human race has prepared for the NeoHumans arrival. When this alien species arrives, Effie and thousands of other young women and men are whisked off to another planet millions of light years away. They are promised a new life on a planet that isn’t bound to die, one that faces no natural disasters. It is a paradise, and these people are special enough to live there. Except for Effie—she’s bound to die in three weeks time.
So far, only NeoHuman has yet to have a nice, working outline.  The other two are near completion, and I soon plan to start working on Tricks.  In a few weeks, I'll probably know which one of these I'll be solely focused on.  I hope I can finish one of these in a month.

Until then, ta-ta, peoples of the internets.

In Which I Present New Ideas

For the past few days, I've been working on two new ideas.  And today, I got another one!

So, today, considering I'm trying to get back into blogging, I feel like telling you guys a bit about my ideas.  Mostly the one-sentence summary lines, but it's something.

My two "older" ideas are both a form of fantasy.  The first is urban, and the second is with some adventure (I don't know whether or not it can be considered 'dystopian' (it's similar to The Pledge, but not in the who Queen-is-sole-ruler-who-does-*censored*-to-continue-Queenly-line) (I'll nickname my project Dystopia for now)).

The Girl of Eternal Fire
After Kyra Hyde discovers there’s a monster inside her, she sets off on a quest to find her father—the man with the answers.

Sever (temporary title)
When she learns of her brother’s whereabouts, Sora Lothbrow sets off to find her brother, and along the way makes a new friend bound to help her out.

 Dystopia
It doesn't really have a one-line summary, so for now you can just know that it will have to do with The Chosen One, some religion (I'm not religion buff, so it shouldn't be too bad), and a monarchy. Oh, and a girl, but that can practically be assumed.

And, for now, that is the only update you'll be getting from me. Starting May, I hope to (maybe) blog every day, or every other day. And maybe post more reviews. And writing tips. And maybe a giveaway (as soon as I figure everything out surrounding the idea of a giveaway).

Until then, bye!

So...

This is really a random post, since it's been a while.

First off, I've started school once again. (Go class of 2014! ... not really.) And I've had homework from the first day. Add marching band to that (waking up before 6am and Monday night rehearsals from 6pm-9pm) and I'm a busy child with not much time to write.

But, on the second day of school, and I had a new idea for a dystopia. It came to me while studying the Roman and Greek politics in World History. So, I decided to start writing it once Chemistry came around (because my Chem teacher is boring). The next day, more ideas came from studying came when we studied the first monotheistic religions. Amazing how school can influence writing, huh?

As a result, I now have a story (titled Day One) that involves a girl living in America a few years from now. America's economy currently suffers from many things, resulting with everyone moving to "cheaper" places. The story starts with the main character finding a note that eventually leads to her being said to have started "the end of the world". (Yes, this story revolves around the events leading to a dystopia.) The more religious part comes in when a young man having deemed himself "God" forced the main character to lead the new world. And, that's all I've got/willing to share as of right now.

That's one new idea that I plan to finish before the end of the year. The other new idea I have is a paranormal story (might have some romance) that was inspired by a picture I found on deviantART. That has yet to be developed, but I know a bit of what will happen.

So ... who of my little followers has gone back to school? New idea maybe? Where do you get inspiration from?

Hope your writing days go well!
-Dylan

P.S. The new blog title was inspired partially by my current English assignment: write an essay about your literary history. Yay for me.
